FD Recruit have another Part Time Finance Director Job Vacancy for a Cardiff based client – handled by our South West & Wales Team.

Part Time Finance Director, 2-3 days per week (3-4 months initially)

Our client is a principal UK contractor who are looking for an interim Finance Director to support the existing management team for an initial period of 3-4 months to complete a series of projects. The company has seen year on year growth of over 100% which has put a strain on current working capital. The main focus of the role will be to:

Enhance short and medium cash flow and P&L forecasting to enable the board to make informed decisions about what new business to take on, to manage cash headroom and financial covenants
Improving monthly financial reporting to include both contract and group KPI, margin and cash analysis
Ensuring tax compliance is fully up to date and to support in negotiation of a dispute with HMRC
Negotiate and liaise with key suppliers

Essential experience

• Fully qualified finance director
• Experience within a project / long term contracts sector
• Experience of working with lenders and institutional equity investors
• Commercial mindset and experience of commercial contract negotiation
• Experience at managing high growth businesses and the working capital challenges that go with it
• Cash flow management in relation to working capital commitments associated with large complex contracts
• Experience of managing suppliers who have experienced creditor stretch
• Experience of negotiating with HMRC in relation to disputed tax obligations
• Experience of improving management reporting
