FD Recruit have another Finance Director Job Vacancy for a Reading based client – handled by our South East Team.

The company is a growing and sizeable private equity backed SME multi site health sector business. They have operations across England and Wales with a dedicated staff and management team.
They have ambitious plans for continued growth and now require a talented Finance Director to contribute to the development of the business and support the management team in this next exciting phase.

This is an excellent opportunity for a talented Finance Director to be an integral part of the business expansion, interacting with staff and management at all levels. The position is an all-encompassing lead finance role, reporting to the CEO and board. There will be regular liaison and interaction with the very supportive Private Equity firm.
Responsibilities include:

  • Managing and directing the finance function.
  • Financial and management control including budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
  • Reporting on business performance to the board.
  • Develop and implement meaningful KPIs.
  • Developing finance systems and processes to create a high performing finance function.
  • Maintaining strong internal and external relationships and contact with private equity investors, banks, operational management and board.
  • Team management and ensuring the effective running of finance and interaction with local authorities and other interested parties.
  • Working capital and cash management.
  • Business planning and input as the key finance partner on commercial activity and direction of the business.


Candidates will need to have held a finance director/CFO position and have experience in a multi site environment. Whilst open on sector background, services sector business experience would be advantageous as would experience of dealing with local authorities.

You should have a track record in growing businesses and developing finance functions, systems and meaningful business KPIs. You should have a commercial outlook backed by strong financial rigour. Private equity backed company experience is very advantageous.

For this position you should also have strong people skills, able to interact and develop empathy and relationships at all levels with non-finance staff and demonstrate a keen understanding of their outlook.

Salary package includes basic, bonus and exceptional equity earnings potential to several £million.
