Record levels of Finance Directors looking for Part-Time roles

Leading specialist recruiter FD Recruit has experienced a record number of candidates registering for Part-Time Finance Director roles.

25% of candidates that have registered with FD Recruit are actively seeking Part-Time Finance Director positions.

FD Recruit Director Phil Scott attributes tighter economic conditions combined with more top level professionals striving for work life balance to the increase in Part-Time FD roles.

Phil said: “In the current climate, many businesses require strategic finance direction more than ever but do not necessarily have the workload – or budget to accommodate a full time top level member of staff.

“At the same time in a survey of Finance professionals we carried out only 30% felt they had achieved work life balance in an industry that is notorious for long hours with almost 25% stating they worked over 15 hours unpaid overtime per week.

Part-Time FD roles can provide a varied work load and flexible rewarding experience, FD’s can work on a consultancy basis or become part of the team on either an interim or permanent basis.

For businesses, making the jump from a supportive team of accountants or financial controller to a Part-Time FD will provide a fresh perspective to the business. As well as getting hold of finances, improving cash flow and raising funds, an FD can inject motivation and leadership to teams or provide much needed strategic support for directors.
