National recruiter of Finance Directors, FD Recruit, is launching a new social media presence aimed at adding value to their clients and candidates and increasing brand awareness across multiple channels.

FD Recruit is a specialist recruiter, placing solely top level finance professionals in businesses across all sectors ranging from £5m to £5bn turnover.

The new social media presence will be used to promote job vacancies and available candidates, and will share specialist advice for Finance Directors looking for their next role and companies looking to recruit an FD.

FD Recruit Director, Phil Scott, said: “We are passionate about giving our clients and candidates as much advice and support as we can, whether they’re looking for a new role or recruiting one – through the blog section of our website we can post regular, informative pieces and advice.”

“Social media will help us share these messages to a much wider audience; we’ll offer tips and ‘how to’ guides as well as updates on industry developments, topics of interest and impending changes to legislation affecting Finance Directors and senior finance professionals.”

Twitter and LinkedIn will be used extensively to share job posts and advice pieces.

FD Recruit have built a presence on LinkedIn as it’s the most prevalent social networking channel for businesses and professionals – 4 out of 5 are registered users, with Financial Services one of the top 3 active industries, and it is now being used increasingly in recruitment.

Phil added: “As well as the obvious business page that FD Recruit will have, we also run more specific groups allowing our members to engage in discussions and seek advice or recommendations – we see this working both ways for members.”

Facebook will also be used for peer to peer sharing, particularly for job seekers.

FD Recruit want to encourage fellow industry thought leaders to get involved in their social media sites with the aim of them becoming forums for sharing ideas, advice and best practice.

Phil said: “The role of an FD can often be a lonely one, with little time or opportunity for peer to peer networking. By recreating this online we can help FDs continue their personal development, keeping them abreast of technical updates and topical developments, and allowing them to expand personal networks.”
