Sabre recruits CFO from Silicon Valley
A leading global travel technology provider, Sabre Corporation, recently appointed a new chief financial officer from a Silicon Valley company.
Sabre brought on managing data expert Doug Barnett in July 2018 to replace Rick Simonson, who previously announced his intention to retire as CFO this year. Simonsson helped with the transition by becoming a senior advisor to Sean Menke.
With three decades worth of experience in finance, technology and operations, Mr Barnett previously worked as a CFO for global data management company Informatica and was also held CFO roles for TriZetto and UGS.
Sean Menke, Sabre’s president and CEO said: “Doug’s finance, technology and operational expertise make him the ideal CFO to help build upon Sabre’s robust foundation and execute the next phase of our strategy underpinned by our strong, flexible capital structure.”
“His seasoned financial leadership within the technology sector will make Doug an excellent partner for our executive team as we continue our mission to reimagine the business of travel while accelerating our growth and creating value for our customers and shareholders.”
“Sabre’s focused strategy and industry leadership position the company as the technology partner of choice for the dynamic travel industry,” said Mr Barnett.
“I’m looking forward to working closely with the leadership team to help execute our strategy and build on Sabre’s track record of innovation and growth.”
Sabre is a US-based travel technology company which provides software and data used by hotels and airlines.
