FD Recruit have another Finance Director Job Vacancy for a Exeter based client – handled by our South West Team.

A well established SME within the retail & leisure sector is looking for an experienced financial controller to assist with their continued expansion. The financial controller will ensure effective financial management and will play an important role in monitoring the financial performance of the company. Reporting to the MD your responsibilities will be to:

• Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting ensuring all statutory requirements and obligations are met.
• Effectively manage all finance staff, processes, and cost bases.
• Be a pro-active member of the Senior Management Team.
• Work in conjunction with the Accountant in ensuring the timely and accurate production of the statutory financial accounts.
• Produce and implement an annual financial strategy and budget ensuring growth.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts for the Executive Board.
• Improve the frequency, communication and focus on the financial reporting companywide.
• Maximise and effectively manage the cash, bank balances and working capital.
• Prepare, calculate and pay all taxes due within set deadlines.
• Pro-actively work with all Heads of Departments ensuring that budgets are achieved and cost centers are managed within the annual expectations.
• Take responsibility for the day to day running of the finance staff.
• Develop, set and ensure commercial, relevant financial processes are being adhered to companywide.
• Ensure appropriate credit control and cash handling procedures are in place company wide and all debtors are controlled within the company’s guidelines.
