FD Recruit have another interim Finance Director Job Vacancy for an Edinburgh based client – handled by our Scotland Team.

OOur client is a £3m turnover digital marketing company who are looking for a hands on Head of Finance to supervise the accounts assistant and to work with the current management team on an interim basis while they recruit for a permanent successor. The Head of Finance will undertake all aspects of financial management, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

Duties will entail:

• Maintain management information and systems, particularly relating to job costing and profitability via the use of financial software.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, statements and report variances.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Management information: Management accounts with commentary; accuracy, timeliness and company-wide presentation; Group reporting.
• Financial control: Written accounting procedures and review; ensure proper authorisation of all expenditure/ costs; payroll control; compliance tax legislation, etc.
• Profit management: Continue programme of margin optimisation; promote financial awareness and literacy; cost control, promote efficiency, ensure budget/ forecast profit achieved; media contracts, production suppliers.
• Cash management: Enhance cash flow, cash forecasting, achieve budget/ forecast; debtor control and policy; bank accounts control.
• Company secretarial: Filing returns, minutes, statutory accounts.
• Legal: Property leases, employment issues, client and supplier contracts.
• Administration: Property (rent and rates, security, fire, insurance, maintenance); Office services (budget responsibility).
• Caretaker of funds, share option administration
• Commercial deals: Review all commercials for profitability and advise on commercials for all future deals.
• Personnel: Authorise all changes, contractual issues, records.
• Maintaining sales ledger processing invoices, Filing/archiving of sales ledger records, Credit Control
• Lead the company wide monthly planning process and the annual budgeting.

Experience of working in a digital, media or professional services (time recording) environment would be a distinct advantage. This role would suit a fully qualified finance manager / financial controller / finance director with experience of a hands on role within an SME environment. This role is envisaged to last circa 2-3 months initially and has the potential of permanency.
